VSM Everywhere (VSM-E) is UC / CC technology independent - and able to be applied to a device regardless of whether the user has Microsoft Teams, Skype, Genesys, 8x8, Zoom, Avaya, Avaya One Cloud Private, Cisco, Webex or WebEx or other technology.Wherever Wherever your people work, this technology-agnostic platform ensures your Unified Communications and Contact Center environments are operating users can operate at peak performance.
The remote workforce has changed everything; users are making calls via XCaaS platforms using a wide range of connectivity, speeds, and ISP’s, typically on consumer-grade connections. Moreover, they are sharing their network with family members who are taking up precious bandwidth and perhaps causing background noise not experienced in the workplace. IT needs to know exactly what the user experience is, why it’s happening, and what to do about it.
VSM Everywhere (VSM-E ) provides new analytics such as workstation and , home network and ISP performance. To view a device here, you must have a Cloud collector location configured and VSM-E installed on that the end-users device. For information about installing VSM-E read more here... or contact Support for more information.

Navigate to this page via Configuration Manager > VSM Everywhere Devices. Any device with VSM-E installed on it will be listed here. Exporting this list provides data useful for asset management.
To view Details for a device, left-click on a row. As you navigate through the tabs, warning triangles and mouse-over information will highlight areas that fall outside industry recommended standards.
...
As can be seen in the screen capture below, the Network Details tab contains:
- Network Interfaces
- Wifi Wi-Fi details (if Wifi Wi-Fi use is active)
- If Signal Strength is too low or Link Quality is poor then Amber or Red warning triangles will appear. Mouse-over on the triangle for more details.
- If Authentication or Encryption means the network is insecure unsecure then a Red warning triangle will appear. Mouse-over on the triangle for more details.

Speed Test
By default speed test will run every 10 minutes unless the work station is asleep or powered off. Speed test uses a variable amount of data depending on the throughput of your internet connection - see details below.
Download
- VSM-E establishes multiple connections with the test server. VSM-E then requests the test server to send an initial chunk of data.
- VSM-E calculates the real-time speed of the transfer, then adjusts the chunk and buffer size based on this calculation to maximize usage of the network connection. (Note that this shouldn't impact the quality of voice or video calls in progress)
- As the chunks are received by VSM-E, it will request more chunks throughout the duration of the test.
- During the first half of the test, VSM-E will establish extra connections to the server if it determines additional threads are required to more accurately measure the download speed.
- The test ends once the test duration has been reached, therefore amount of data used in the test will vary based on the capability of the connection.
Upload
- VSM-E establishes multiple connections with the test server and sends an initial chunk of data.
- VSM-E calculates the real-time speed of the transfer and adjusts the chunk and buffer size based on it to maximize usage of the network connection, then requests more data. (Note that this shouldn't impact the quality of voice or video calls in progress)
- As the chunks are received by the server, VSM-E will send more chunks throughout the duration of the test.
- During the first half of the test, VSM-E will establish extra connections to the server if it determines additional threads are required to more accurately measure the upload speed.
- The test ends once the test duration has been reached, therefore amount of data used in the test will vary based on the capability of the connection.
Ping
- This test is performed by measuring the time it takes for the test server to reply to a request from VSM-E. VSM-E sends a message to the test server, upon receiving that message, the server sends a reply back. The round-trip time is measured is measured in ms (milliseconds).
- This test is repeated multiple times with the lowest value determining the final result.
Hardware Details tab
As can be seen in the screen capture below, the Hardware Details tab contains:
- Manufacturer, Model, version, number of logical processors
- Processor and Memory occupancy
System Details tab
As can be seen in the screen capture below, the System Details tab contains:
- Kernel name, node name, kernel software release, machine, processor manufacturer, hardware platform, operating system.
Note: Machine will populate for a Linux device.
