Introduction
The Items Deployed report provides a summary of the hardware and applications under management.
- Item Name is either hostname of the application server or the name assigned by the equipment manufacturer.
- The item type is either the type application or the type of equipment assigned by the equipment manufacturer.
- If the item is covered by the support contract that is set up in VSM for this customer, then it is marked as so.
- Item Count shows the number of items that have a matching type. For example, this customer has a total of 6 G650 Port Networks and 12 TN799DP types of equipment in their environment.
- Location shows the main location for the customer's equipment. This may be within their enterprise, data centre, or in a cloud environment.
- Equipment is the friendly name of the application server as set up in VSM – in most implementations, there are sub-components or adjuncts to the main application server, this parent-child relationship is inferred by the Item Type field.
Uses
VSM users use this report to gain a consolidated view of all equipment in their environments.
Service Providers use this report to ensure that they are holding adequate spare parts and to ensure that any new equipment added by the customer or other third parties is brought under the support contract.
