Introduction
This report lists all the hardware by type, which is sorted on a site by site basis. The intention is to show hardware capacity that has been assigned through configuration.
(Ports consumed are shown as a percentage)
Uses
In this way, it is easy to identify:
- Capacity constraints at a site by type (e.g. running low on analogue station capacity).
- Load sharing anomalies; hardware port allocation should be even across deployed hardware of each type.
- Single points of failure (e.g. all stations are assigned on a single board, yet there is a spare board at that site).
- Easily see where resources can be moved between sites to avoid unnecessary purchases.
- Budgeting and forecasting.
