Introduction

A great way to see where users are physically located.

The VSM CMDB understands the topology of the network, and through this understanding can identify where each and every CI is physically located.

So as a subset of the CMDB, the Station Location report shows data relating to stations that is often of interest to administrators:

Uses

  • See where users are physically located using irrefutable network-sourced data.
  • Track serial numbers of CI per site.
  • Identify MAC addresses.
  • Check that the stations are registered to the correct Gatekeeper(s).
  • Reconcile hardware and firmware releases:
    • for site-by-site upgrades.
    • to identify inconsistencies between users.
