A dashboard can be made "Public" so other users can view it. These These can be created by customer users or by business partners Business Partners for their customers to use.
- A public dashboard can only be modified by the original user
- Where a public dashboard has been created by a business partnerBusiness Partner, then the customer will see the owner as "Business Partner created"
- If a user has been deleted, and they were the owner of Public dashboards then those dashboard will remain for users to continue using. (Note that their Private dashboards will be deleted)
- Administrator and Normal Users can copy a public dashboard, and then they will be able to edit their own copy
- DashboardOnly users can only open and view dashboards where the Sharing 'sharing' is set to Public

Auto-start for Dashboards
Where auto-start is selected on a dashboard, users may be required to allow pop-ups. Click on the pop-up Icon in the browser and select "Always allow pop-ups and redirects from ..."
To Create a Dashboard
Note 1: A DashboardOnly user cannot create a dashboard. They can only only open and view dashboards that another user has created and has sharing set to Public.
Note 2: Business Partner dashboards created from top menu Administration > Dashboards are only visible to other BP users when made public. Create a dashboard at customer level to share with customer users.
- Click on the ‘Add Dashboard’ button on the Dashboards screenlanding page.
- Populate Add Dashboard fields and then click OK.
- Name – The Name of the Dashboard
- Sharing – Private or Public
- If Private only the Owner can view the dashboard
- If Public other users can view the dashboard. Other users can then Open or Copy the dashboard but cannot Edit or Delete it
- Owner – Defaults Users name here and cannot be edited.
- Description – an optional field that describes the contents or use
- Tick box – Allows the Dashboard to Auto Start when the owner logs in. If selected this Dashboard will automatically open in a second browser tab when the owner logs into VSM
- On first Logon you will need to allow pop-ups, to enable your dashboards to start automatically on log in.
- You have created a new dashboard name.
- Select the new name, right click to Open Dashboard and then add required dashlets.
